Successful apprenticeship training at ZIMMER AUSTRIA
For more than 60 years, ZIMMER AUSTRIA, the innovative digital competence centre for textile and carpet printing machines, has been offering apprenticeships in Mechanical Engineering and in Mechatronics, and by now also in Textile Chemistry – and all of them with great success. Currently, about half of all apprentices (9 from 19), were able to finish the vocational training school with excellent results, another 6 with good success.

The FESPA Global Print Expo (www.fespa.com) 2018 opened its doors for four days at the Berlin Exhibition Centre in mid-May. With ten occupied halls, FESPA 2018 once again lived up to its reputation as Europe's largest trade fair for screen printing, digital large format printing, textile printing and advertising technology.
Looking back on 3 busy days at Techtextil North America
ZIMMER AUSTRIA would like to thank everyone that came to see us at last week's Techtextil in Atlanta, GA. It was the largest Techtextil North America yet in terms of number of exhibitors. There was a tremendous size of crowds every day that kept our booth very busy.
Mohtasham Carpet pioneers new ZIMMER AUSTRIA tech in Iran
By Tansy Fall (WTiN)
Following a project initiated by ZIMMER AUSTRIA, last year, for digital printing on polyester woven, Iranian carpet manufacturer Mohtasham Carpet has been the first to install this pioneering production line. The modified COLARIS solution from Zimmer Austria is complete with a unique penetration booster system that ensures ink saturation on woven white PET carpet, pushing the ink into the carpet fibres before drying, heat fixation, washing and drying. The saturation of the print is crucial as it mimics the look of a venerated handmade carpet.
Penetration of the fibres is crucial, particularly for the Iranian market. Hossein Rahimi, managing director, Mohtasham Carpet (with translation by Saeid Haghighi, director, Kimc consultancy) explains: “Iran has the biggest tradition in carpets. The Iranian people are very picky when it comes to penetration and the backside of the carpet, and often people buy the carpet from the backside.”

By Tansy Fall (WTiN)
A collaborative project between some of the textile industry’s most prominent European machinery manufacturers has led to a new innovative possibility for the carpet industry. At the 2018 edition of Domotex – the foremost exhibition for floor coverings – a project aimed at creating a solution for digitally printed woven polyester carpets came to fruition, causing a stir with visitors.
